A proposal to re-open the gravel pit near Hawk Mountain Resort was tossed after residents expressed outrage over noise, dust and pollution.
Applicant Ralph Michael, the town’s Select Board chairman and engineer, confirmed this morning that he received word of some 100 people in town protesting the pit.
Therefore, he said, he withdrew his application. An Act 250 application is however, pending, with a hearing scheduled for April 10 at the Plymouth town office with a site visit at 9:30 a.m.
