Margo Marrone’s Plymouth Report

Well, this certainly has been a soggy Memorial Day weekend! I hope whatever plans folks had could be brought indoors. There was a wedding at the Echo Lake Inn on Saturday, but the tent was all sealed up, so hopefully everyone was cozy & warm!

Tom & I ventured over to the Messer Hill garage sales at Eric Johnson’s & the Marino’s on Saturday afternoon. The wind was whipping & snow flakes were filling the sky at that elevation! Sounded like a fairly good crowd of “shoppers” were not deterred by the weather, however.

I was feeling sorry for the bikers from Killington Stage Race. As we were heading up the Notch Hill, they were flying down it. I haven’t heard of any mishaps & hope that the wet roads did not make the ride hazardous.

By the way, congratulations to Eric Evans on his recent promotion to Head Golf Professional/Manager at Tater Hill Gold Club in Windham, VT. Having studied PGA Golf Management at Campbell University in North Carolina, Eric returned to VT several years ago as the assistant. Nice to have our young people coming back to VT!

We had a pleasant visit with Irene Fennell, formerly of Dublin Rd, who was in VT with a friend. We had a plentiful meal at DJ’s & caught up on all the news!

It was nice to have family & friends attend church at Tyson on Sunday to honor Jane & Rob Buswell, Betty Jarvi, & Evelyn Warren. Although they are not longer in our midst, contributions received at the time of their passing have helped to replace colored windows & the sound system at the church. Thanks to Bill Buswell for overseeing the purchasing of the plagues with their lovely pictures & favorite Scripture on each one.

I imagine that most people have seen the new warning about the meeting to reinstate the budget item for the Sheriff in town, which will take place on Tues, 6/25 at 7:00 PM. Please note the date, since often such meetings take place on a Monday.

On a less controversial note, the following day, Wed, 6/26 will be the annual Strawberry Festival at Camp Plymouth State Park, beginning at 5:00 PM. Please mark your calendar for this fun community event, where you can visit with friends, have delicious food, & take chances on some wonderful prizes!. More details to follow……
