I hope that everyone saw the wonderful write-up in the VT Standard on Ryan Blanchard along with pictures of this outstanding young man at his Eagle Scout ceremony. I was disappointed that I couldn’t be there, but it was so nice that his brother, Troy was able to attend.
Plans are underway for the Coolidge Holiday Open House on Sunday, 12/15 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Come enjoy the Christmas decorations & winter exhibits at the Museum & Education Center, the Aldrich House & the Plymouth Cheese Factory. There will be craft demonstrations, music, children‘s activities, sleigh rides & the Memory Tree lighting ceremony at 3:00 PM.
Don’t forget to bring your appetite because Tyson Ladies Aid will be serving delicious food at the Wilder House from 10:00 until 3:00. Lunch will feature chili, soups & home-baked goodies! TLA Member, Carol Coyne’s birthday is 12/17! As usual, there will also be a special stamp cancellation that day, as well.
We learned during sharing time in church that one of our local families had turducken for Thanksgiving Dinner this year – a chicken in a duck in a turkey! No matter what you feasted upon, I hope that it was special day of giving thanks.
Kathy Lynds has requested that we start the cookie decorating at 5:00 PM on Sunday, 12/22. This will be an opportunity for young people to come to Tyson Church ahead of our Annual Community Candlelight Service (7:00 PM) to use their talent to decorate Holiday cookies. We will also be providing pizza while they make their creations! If you would like to contribute some cookies for the project, feel free to do so. In any case, we always have plenty of refreshments following the service, with a special community time of fellowship. Hope you can join us!
Although I can’t recall the original source, these are words I wanted to use at our recent Service of Remembrance last Sunday afternoon, as we recalled those no longer with us during the Holiday Season. All of our tears & all of our laughter – we place them safely in the hands of God. All of our grief & all of our joy – we place them safely in the heart of God. All of our stories & all of our memories – we place them safely in the mind of God. Those we remember & those we love, we now trust to be safe in the embrace of God.
