Congratulations to Gracie Vosburgh for her stellar performance recently – scoring 4 goals & 2 assists for the Girls Lacrosse team at WUHS. I also noticed that Cedar Allen is on the Black River golf team.
Speaking of sports, biking season has started & I found it interesting to read some of the mandated conditions. “No person less that 16 years of age may operate or ride upon a bicycle on a public way unless he or she wears protective headgear of a type approved by the commissioner of health & human services” (Source – the VT Journal). It was also noted that reflective outerwear must be worn if riding ½ hour before sunrise or ½ hour after sunset. Be safe!
Please note that Samantha Holcomb of the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission will be giving a Powerpoint presentation of our Town’s Hazard Mitigation Plan at the regular Selectmen’s meeting on Monday, June 2, at the Town Hall at approximately 6:15 pm. The Plan can be reviewed on the Town Website.
Trucks abound in Plymouth! Two new-to-us fire trucks – one a pumper & the other a rescue vehicle were recently purchased from the Ludlow Dept, as they have replaced them with new equipment. Also, the new town truck that has been on order has arrived, too.
Don’t forget the dedication celebration at the Tyson Library on Sunday, June 8th at 2:00 PM. A number of improvements have been made to the library with funds donated by special friends in memory of loved ones. We will be hanging a plaque in the library to honor these special people: Mary Gross, Carlton Harlow, Janet Stewart, and Betty Jarvi.
