I hate to say it, but I have seen a few trees with changing leaves! Certainly the cooler temps this weekend are a forewarning of what is to come….. In the meantime, however, there are some great events coming up.
Come out & enjoy some terrific music at the tenth annual Plymouth Folk & Blues Festival at the Historic Site over Labor Day Weekend. The entertainment, organized by Jay Ottaway, takes place from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on both Sat, 8/ 30 & Sun, 8/31. You can enjoy these outdoor performances for free, although donations are greatly appreciated. Collections for the VT Food Bank of non-perishable items are also encouraged. The children can enjoy wagon rides & face-painting. There will even be a classic car parade! For more info call 672-3773.
For a different genre of music, plan to attend the Second Grace Coolidge Musicale of the season on 9/7 from 4:00 – 5:30 PM, featuring Bozena O’Brien (violin), Roger Ellsworth (viola), Gary Hodges (cello), & of course Abigail Charbeneau (piano). This concert will include Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60, as well as music by Robert Schumann. Enjoy refreshments at the Wilder House Restaurant after the performance.
Now for some exciting romantic news. Best wishes to Melissa (Missy) Waysville & Mike Benson on their 7/3/14 marriage! Also, several engagements have taken place for young men from our area. Sam Moyer is engaged to Renee Lehman & a January 2015 wedding is planned. James Nadeau is engaged to Sally Norton of Essex Junction, with a summer 2015 wedding planned. Lastly, Eric Evans is engaged to Christina Lefebvre & their wedding will take place in July 2015. Congratulations to all!
