Glorious sunshine – how it heals and refreshes me. I hope that it does the same for you. The aroma of sap turning into syrup wafts through the air. The ice in the holding tank is breaking up and the precious liquid is being transformed. Tis the season in more ways than one!
Congratulations to recent National Honor Society inductees Anna Hepler, Julia Kowalski, and Lonnie Ennis’ grandson, Matt Ennis. We have a wonderful mix of young people and it is nice to acknowledge their accomplishments. Feel free to send me their stories.
Thanks to Sue Poirier for offering CPR training for the Fire Dept. Also, much appreciation for those willing to learn these important skills.
As usual we had an interesting book discussion at the Reading Group last week. We don’t always share the same opinion, but it is fun to hear different perspectives and the varying experiences folks have had that relate to the books. This next time we are reading something light, “The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules” By Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg. We will meet on 4/26 to discuss it.
Don’t forget to enjoy wonderful baked goods prepared by Tyson Ladies Aid that will be on sale between 10 and noon on Friday, 4/30 in the Shaw’s Plaza in Ludlow. Funds raised go to numerous community projects.
I understand that volunteers are being sought to help at Bethany Birches Camp this coming summer. A couple of areas of need are medical help and kitchen assistance. Food and lodging is provided. Contact Amber at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the camp office (802-672-5220) with questions.
Well, this will be my final week of ministry at Tyson Congregational Church. It has been a privilege to serve there and to minister to the community at large. We will have our Maundy Thursday supper (5:00 PM) and service (6:00 PM) as part of Holy Week. Plans have been made to decorate our large wooden Cross with flowers again this year to help us remember that new life springs forth on Resurrection Sunday.
I will still be part of the community and plan to continue writing this column, so send me your news!
